The Grand Ole Opry: what a night looks like

You don't buy a ticket to one artist at the Opry. Each show puts six to eight acts on the same stage, from country legends to newcomers, and runs about two hours with a 15-minute intermission. The show first aired on WSM radio on October 5, 1925, and today it plays several nights a week at the Grand Ole Opry House, a 4,400-seat theater next to Opry Mills.

Which nights

The Opry says it plays live several nights a week and every Saturday night; the nights change week to week, so check the dates below. The Opry moves back to the Ryman every January for a run of Opry at the Ryman shows.

Which night is cheapest

On current listings, Tuesday is the cheapest night (typical cheapest seat $82) and Friday the dearest ($99).

Kids, dress and bags

Children under 4 get in free but must sit with their guardian. There is no formal dress code: the Opry says you'll see everything from faded jeans to business suits. Oversized bags are refused unless medically necessary, all bags are searched, and everyone goes through metal detectors.

Parking

The Opry House lot is paid parking run by Metropolis, open for evening shows from 5 PM. A pass is good for one entry and one exit, and you can pre-buy it through AXS. The Opry doesn't publish the price on its parking page.

Backstage tours

The Opry House runs tours during the day: the 50-minute daytime tour costs $46.65, the 90-minute VIP tour $88.34 and the 45-minute Women of Country tour $59.81. A 60-minute post-show tour costs $45 and needs a show ticket. Children 12 and under tour at a discount; 3 and under tour free.
